Kundalini Yoga

Welcome To Kundalini Yoga

The exciting world of Kundalini Yoga is here for you to explore and adapt to your life. There is no other discipline quite like it. It prepares your mind for optimal clarity and use. It expands your sense of awareness and gives you greater energy to express your creativity.

Kundalini Yoga helps to balance and strengthen the energy systems in your entire body, including your brain, glandular and nervous systems, which enables you to harness the energy of your mind and your emotions, so you can be in control of yourself, rather than being controlled by your thoughts and feelings. This facilitates you to function at a consistently higher level, without exhausting your mind and body.

When the body and mind are at ease, inspiration flows freely and peace of mind is realized.

The word "Kundalini" means "Awareness" and hidden potential of that awareness; it is the greatness of which you are capable. In the yogic tradition, Kundalini Energy is portrayed as a coiled serpent, lying dormant at the base of your spine. To raise your Kundalini means to awaken and enliven your creative energy.

Kundalini Yoga is the original and most powerful of the twenty-two schools of yoga. All forms of yoga are beneficial. The yoga sutras say that what you can achieve in 12 years of Hatha Yoga, plus 6 years of Raj Yoga plus 3 years of Mantra Yoga plus 1 year of Laya Yoga can be accomplished in a single year of perfectly practiced Kundalini Yoga.

So what does this mean to you? It is the fastest form of Yoga practice for the evolution of your soul.

It is designed for the active person with responsibilities in work, the family and the world.

Until recent years, Kundalini Yoga was the exclusive and secretive domain of yogis in the far-off Himalayas and India and was maintained as a secret oral tradition for thousands of years, which protected the techniques from abuse, but also created an unnecessary image of mystery around techniques that are truly practical and systematic.

Kundalini Yoga can be practiced by anyone if it is done gradually and according to the instruction.

In 1969, an acknowledged master of Kundalini Yoga, Yogi Bhajan Ph.D., recognized the need to disseminate the techniques of Kundalini Yoga. He codified and then released the teachings and began to teach this powerful health-giving science openly.

In 1970, he founded the Healthy, Happy, Holy Organization (3HO) to spread and to serve these teachings.. He began training teachers to share these precious technologies to increase human awareness around the world.

As our society becomes increasingly technological in this information age, our world is quickly growing into a "Global Village." Each part of our world is more intimately affected by every other part. The pace of change is increasing and the stress on our nervous system is always increasing.

The inner science of your mind is the tool that will enable you to cope with the pressure of growth and change. It is your mind that interprets your world and yourself. It is your mind that you must train to guide your flow of impulses.

Nowadays, through the efforts of Yogi Bhajan and the other teachers of the 3HO Foundation, Kundalini Yoga is been practised by hundreds of thousands of people in 31 countries, making 3HO the largest yoga teaching organization in the world.

A lot of people as the question, is Kundalini Yoga is a religion? Kundalini Yoga is not a religion, all forms of Yoga encourage all forms of religious and spiritual expression and activity and promotes spiritual dialogue as part of what makes you fully human and alive.

The Goal

Kundalini Yoga is designed to give you "Hands On" experience of your highest consciousness. It teaches a method by which you can achieve the sacred purpose of your life. This can be described in many ways, such as:

- Experience your inner light of consciousness

- Experience your own highest consciousness

- Discover your real Identity

The practices enable you to merge with or "Yoke" with the universal Self. This merging of individual consciousness with universal consciousness creates a “Divine Union” called "YOGA."

The practice that leads to this state of self-mastery is also called "Yoga." So the road and the destination have the same name, "Yoga." There are many different kinds, or schools of yoga. See "Many Paths, One Goal." Those who practice yoga are called "Yogis" and those who master yoga are also called "Yogis."

The technology of Kundalini Yoga applies its science to our bodies and minds, and is aimed at spirit which has no boundaries, no discrimination. Therefore it is for everyone. It is universal and nondenominational.
