my story...
Like you, I've
been searching for something for most of my life—most of
the time, not finding it. Occasionally, I found little pieces
of it, but (until I found Kundalini Yoga) I could never put it
all together.
Back in 1997
when I first began attending Kundalini Yoga Classes at the local
YMCA, my life was definitely not working.
It wasn't for
lack of desire, though. I tried just about everything to get my
act together--seminars, workshops, several kinds of therapy, bodywork,
subliminal soundtracks, diet, herbs, fasting, even and
a few things i'm even a little embarrassed to admit I tried. I
must have read and listened to hundreds of self-help books.
I heard meditation
would help, so I started meditating an hour a day at least, sometimes
up to six hours, every day and have been quite regular over the
last 10 years!
You name it,
I probably tried it at least once.
It's not that
I didn't get results from all these things. In fact, I changed
a lot. Sometimes I would even have what seemed to be dramatic
breakthroughs. Eventually, though, I realized that the deep underlying
cause of my unhappiness wasn't being touched by any of these things.
And, whatever progress I was making was unbearably slow.
You probably
know just what I'm talking about from your own experience.
Then, totally
unexpectedly, something really significant happened...

I was a little
skeptical (as you might be right now), but as soon as my class
began I knew I was learning something very special, something
that I knew would give me the results I was after...
I Just Wanted
To Feel Good!!!!
When my class
was over, I felt more peaceful than I usually did (even on a really
good day). I felt more calm and at peace, centered, happy, mentally
sharper, colors were even more vivid... and these feelings lingered
for hours!
Wow! I Had Really Found
Something!
I took Kundalini
Yoga classes at the Downtown YMCA for about 6 months until
I decided to become a teacher and registered for teacher training.
I didn't
have the money, I just knew I was going to complete the course
because I knew with every cell of my being that I was to become
a teacher of the Science Of Kundalini Yoga; the most powerful
yoga known because of its integrity and discipline.
Long story
short, the money appeared, my mother told me about a savings
bond I had that I did not know about, which paid for half and I received a work bonus
for the other half.
So there
I was, me and another guy in a room full of women training
to become teachers of the most powerful yoga on the planet
and it was challenging to say the least. I was pushed through
a lot of my "Stuff", you know what I mean, all the
things that unconsciously keep us from living the life we
dream of.
After about
a month in my training I gave my teacher trainer Hari Darshan
a copy of a self-healing relaxation CD I made which was called "Transformational Affirmations For The Soul Volume One",
which was a test pressing of some of my work with Positive
Affirmations that I learned about from reading "The Artist's
Way" by Julia Cameron.
Now I had
the same Ocean Waves used in Oceanic Breathing in Transformational
Affirmations. The main reason I thought at the time I included
the Ocean Waves was because I had this little annoying hissing
feedback noise whenever I tried to record the affirmations
acappella.
Using my
positive mind and turning a problem into an opportunity I
decided to digitally record the Ocean and use it in the background
to cover up the hissing noise and it worked. But now I had
a new problem, if you listen to the Ocean, I mean really listen
to the Ocean at the Ocean, you will notice that the waves are not in rhythm
and this threw off the timing when saying my Transformational
Affirmations so I decided to cut up the Ocean Waves that I
had and just use the best wave I could find.
I logically
picked a wave that was 15 seconds in length from start to
end and looped it, giving me 4 waves per 1 minute.
Then I said
a Transformational Affirmation after the crash of each wave.
This worked and gave me Transformational Affirmations For
The Soul Volume One!!!
Now getting
back to my Yoga Teacher Training, the week after I gave Hari Darshan
a copy of my CD to listen to and give feedback on he was teaching
us the different breathing techniques taught in Kundalini
Yoga Classes.
When Hari
Darshan began teaching us about Long Deep Breathing my mouth
hit the floor, I experienced goose bumps throughout my body
like never before in my life and still haven't to this day
and this big smile came over my entire being because I knew
that I had just discovered a way to bring the most powerful self-healing technique on the planet to the masses to help cure a major epidemic that
affects us all: STRESS!!!

when you continue reading below that breathing four breathes
per minute is one of the best things you can do for yourself
and if you actually time yourself without being conscious
you probably breathe between 16 - 24 breathes per minute which
is very shallow and actually creates stress in your body because
you are not feeding the cells of your brain and your body
with enough of what they need... Oxygen!!!
I didn't
know it until that moment sitting in class but I had created
a tool, which I now call Oceanic Breathing to help people
learn, practice and eventually Master The Art of Long Deep
Breathing!!!

When you slow your breath to eight breaths per minute,
